Why cant I type all my serial number in the box?

This issue arises when large fonts are used on your system.
To fix this you need to set it back to use small fonts.

To do this right click on your desktop, left click on the word properties.

Click on the settings tab and then on the advanced button.

Select the smallest font size you have available from the drop down list.

Click apply and then restart your computer.

You should now be able to insert the full serial number.

I receive an error message about "Engine component AIM". What do I do?

Please download and install the latest version of the AIMEngine from the link below:

http://www.a-i-m.de/Downloads/Files/AIMEngine%20v2.0.2.0%20(small).exe

PLEASE NOTE: The installer messages are in German but the AIMEngine itself is compatible with the English version of RedShift. It installed and worked dependably on our test computers.

RedShift 5 uses the AIMEngine to show the Help Manual, the AstroDictionary and the PhotoGallery.

There seems to have been some sort of installation problem; I can neither uninstall or reinstall Redshift 5?

To completely remove Redshift 5 and Redshift 5 data files from your system ready to perform a clean installation:

1. Double click on MY COMPUTER (or select START then MY COMPUTER with Windows XP).

2. Double click on your C: hard disk, then double click on 'PROGRAM FILES'.

3. Click once on the MARIS TECHNOLOGIES folder to highlight it.

4. Press DELETE on your keyboard.

5. Click on your START MENU again, then click on RUN.

6. Type in REGEDIT and press OK.

THESE INSTRUCTIONS INVOLVE EDITING THE WINDOWS REGISTRY - TAKE GREAT CARE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS PRECISELY AS FOCUS MULTIMEDIA WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MISTAKES MADE ON YOUR PART.

This will load up the Windows Registry Editor. You should see a line near the top that says HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

7. Click on the small '+' icon to the left of this.
* Underneath, click on the '+' next to SOFTWARE.
* Click on the words MARIS TECHNOLOGIES in the list below. Make sure the words are highlighted then press delete on your keyboard. Click Yes in the warning box.

8. Also underneath SOFTWARE, click on the '+' next to MICROSOFT.
* Then on the '+' next to WINDOWS.
* Then on the '+' next to CURRENT VERSION.
* Then on the '+' next to UNINSTALL.
* Then click on the words MARIS TECHNOLOGIES in the list below. Make sure the words are highlighted then press DELETE on your keyboard. Click Yes in the warning box.

9. Scroll back up to the very top of the list in the Registry Editor. You should see a line near the top that says HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Click on the small '+' icon to the left of this.
* Underneath, click on the '+' next to SOFTWARE.
* Click on the words MARIS TECHNOLOGIES in the list below. Make sure the words are highlighted then press delete on your keyboard. Click Yes in the warning box.


This should have now removed Redshift 5 from your system. Please close down the Registry Editor and then try installing the program again.
